The Verkada MT81 eliminates the two biggest barriers to deploying surveillance in remote locations: power and connectivity. A 1,600-watt solar panel with electric tilt charges either a 6.6 kWh or 13.2 kWh lithium battery system, keeping cameras running around the clock without external power. A Verkada GC31-E cellular gateway provides cloud connectivity anywhere with cellular coverage. The trailer arrives fully assembled and can be operational in hours, not days — making it ideal for construction sites, parking lots, rail yards, agricultural facilities, and any location where traditional wired security infrastructure is impractical or cost-prohibitive.

AI Video Analytics & License Plate Recognition

Every camera mounted on the MT81 mast runs Verkada’s AI-powered analytics including person and vehicle detection, Appearance Search, and license plate recognition (LPR). Security teams can search footage using plain-text queries, face matching, or vehicle descriptions to find specific events in seconds rather than scrubbing through hours of video. Integrated LPR captures plate numbers for investigations, access control, and vehicle tracking across your sites. Combined with video alarms that detect trespassing and loitering in real time, the MT81 delivers proactive security monitoring that goes far beyond passive recording.

Sentry Mode, Two-Way Audio & Remote Deterrence

The MT81’s 24-foot telescoping mast with electric-powered winch provides elevated vantage points that fixed cameras cannot match. In Sentry Mode, PTZ cameras automatically scan designated areas and capture high-resolution images of individuals even without a live operator. When a threat is detected, the integrated BZ11 horn speaker enables live talk-down by trained monitoring agents or your own security team. A flashing blue LED strobe light provides additional visual deterrence. All footage and alerts are accessible from any smartphone, tablet, or browser through Verkada’s encrypted cloud platform — giving you complete remote oversight of every deployment location.

MT81 Configurations & Specifications

The MT81 is available in two configurations: the MT81-6KWH for deployments with greater sun exposure or lower power demands, and the MT81-13KWH for locations with less sunlight or higher power requirements. Both models include a 1,600W solar panel, 24-foot telescoping mast, 8-port managed PoE switch with 7 runs to the mast head, solar charge controller, six camera arm mounts, and mounting patterns for the GC31-E gateway and BZ11 speaker. Remote power management through the Verkada Command platform lets you monitor battery levels, solar production, and system health from anywhere.
