For a typical small commercial building (eight cameras, four controlled doors, existing strikes), hardware and 3-year licenses run about $22,055 at US list: $16,264 for the cameras and $5,791 for the access control. Installation is quoted per site because it depends on the building — construction, cable paths, panel capacity, and door hardware move that number more than the equipment does.

What the installation includes
- Site survey. Coverage gaps, lighting, mounting, cable paths, network capacity, and the door schedule, walked in person.
- Design and quote. A bill of materials with model numbers and quantities, an install plan sequenced around your operations, and one price.
- Structured cabling. PoE runs, switching, and surge protection — documented, labeled, and testable.
- Device installation. Cameras, controllers, readers, locks, and alarm devices mounted and wired.
- Commissioning. Every device verified in Command: views aimed, doors tested end to end, alarm notifications routed.
- Handover and training. Admin training, credential issue, and documentation your team can use.

Verkada US list prices effective June 5, 2026, before tax and shipping. Door locks, installation labor, and network upgrades are quoted per site. An alarm panel (BP52, $899) with the basic site license adds $600 per year.
What drives the cost of your building
- Construction. Concrete and closed ceilings mean more labor per run than open plenum steel.
- Scale. Controllers and multisensors get cheaper per door and per camera position as counts rise.
- Doors. Existing strikes are free to reuse; maglocks add fire-release wiring; ornate or fire-rated doors need specific hardware.
- Retention. Longer retention means larger onboard storage or cloud add-ons per camera.
- Network. PoE budget and spare ports on your switches, or we quote the switching.
- Integration. Visitor management, intercoms, and intrusion each add devices and licenses.
